5 Ways to De-Stress

5 Ways to De-Stress

With this week being an exam week or the final deadlines of assignments for others, I understand how stressful it can become. (I am actually very much stressing out about a presentation as I am writing this.) But hopefully, we can all de-stress, clear out our minds and prepare ourselves for these examinations and projects with this list:

  1. Go for a walk

Or do any sort of physical activity, for that matter! One of my favourite things to do is to go exercise as it doesn’t only release tension and stress from my body, but also gets my mind off of things that keep me overthinking and getting stressed overall.

  1. Have a warm drink!

I don’t know why it is, but having a warm cup of tea just helps soothe my nerves. Not only that, but it also keeps me warm during the cold nights!

  1. Soak in a warm bath

Or take a warm shower if you don’t own a tub! It helps relieve the tensed muscles and keep them loose!

  1. Listening to music

You don’t have to only listen to soothing music to de-stress. Listening to upbeat music can make you feel more optimistic, whereas slow-beat tempo music can help you relax and quiet your mind. Whatever you choose, any type of music is effective for relaxation overall.

  1. Write! It! Down!

I don’t know if other people do this, but when I’m stressed, I write it out! It’s better to write whatever you’re feeling and what’s bothering you, rather than bottling it in. Some people talk it out, and some yell it out, but the latter is an inconvenience for most people. Writing it down is one of the easiest ways to let your aggression and feelings out.
