Hello there! It’s the end of the academic year, and you’ll soon be having your summer break; what are you planning to do in these three months?
In today’s blog, I am going to share some ideas on how you can spend your summer break!
International travel may not be possible this year; however, you may explore around the UK and travel to different cities. Although staying domestic may not sound as exciting, you may be surprised that there are still a lot of places in the UK that you haven’t been to before!
• Go outdoor
After staying indoors for months during lockdowns, what’s better than getting outdoor and have some fresh air? Have a picnic with friends and family, jog around the park, walk along the canals… Places such as Cannon Hill Park, Edgbaston Reservoir, and the Birmingham canals are all very nice places to get some fresh air.
• Start cooking/baking
Do you usually cook or bake yourself? Cooking or baking yourself is actually loads of fun! If you don’t have a lot of experience cooking, you may want to start with something simple this weekend. Perhaps pasta or a classic victoria sponge. Cooking also brings you and your family/friends together too; everyone loves homemade food. Isn’t it nice to have everyone gather together to do a quick catch-up?
• Focus on your loved ones
It has been such a difficult year when we couldn’t see our loved ones in person. Now, spend more time with them when you can. Whether it’s just watching movies at home or having dinner together, spend more time with them, tell them that you love them, hug them, and treasure the time you have together.
• Learn Something New
It’s going to be three months when you don’t have to worry about uni work, why not learn something new and delicate your spare time in learning new skills? Think about what interests you the most, and start today!
There is so much stuff you could learn:
Such as – Learn a new language – Learn to draw – Photography – Photoshop – Gardening – A musical instrument – DIY – Yoga/Meditation – Self-defence – Repair – Sewing – First Aid – and many more…
The summer is a great time for you to gain some precious work experience. With the easing of covid restrictions, many industries are looking for new staff, so do get in touch with them, and if you need any help, book an appointment with Hired!
See you next week!
